There are people who survive hardship, and then there are people like Aileen who survive it, and then turn around and carry everyone else through it too. She was brave without announcement, kind without condition, and when something was wrong, she said so. Clearly, firmly, and with love. At work, she fought for justice not because it was her job, but because it was her nature.

She was truly the embodiment of her mother, the late Caroline. She was not finished but then, the ones who burn the brightest rarely are. She is gone too soon, and she is loved beyond measure.
